The Hamilton R-2 School District is currently accepting applications for a Middle School Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year, with the possibility to earn extra income as the Middle School Special Education Process Coordinator. We are located 40 miles east of St. Joseph at the intersection of Hwy 36 and Hwy 13.  Hamilton R-II School District serves just over 600 students in grades PK-12th grade.  We have a teacher to student ratio of 1:13.  Our students maintain good attendance, typically around 95%, and we are strongly supported by the community and our families. 

The SPED teacher will be providing services for 6th-8th grade students who are on individualized education plans. The caseload size is approximately 10 students. Knowledge of the special education referral process and experience doing academic testing is a plus. The qualified candidate will have a valid Missouri teaching certificate with the appropriate certification. Coaching opportunities are available. This position will be open until filled.
